Normally, to modify a page within a Website<\/a>,<\/span> You need to put it in maintenance mode to avoid a bad user experience on your website.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In most cases, you don't need to put the entire website into maintenance mode if you're not going to change all the pages and structures of your website.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This type of work is almost always done with plugins, especially by people who are not professional developers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are many plugins available for WordPress that allow you to do this job without touching code, for example; the WP Maintenance Mode plugin. <\/span><\/p>\n

Personally, I have used it in my company when developing a website for a client or for a project of my company.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But in this post I'm going to explain how to modify a page within your website without putting it into maintenance mode.\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With years of work and development in WordPress, I have learned a lot and invented tricks that help me when I work. <\/span><\/p>\n

In this special case, if you need to change a page and don't need your customers or users to see the changes before final publication, you can do the following:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Put the page in draft mode<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Set the page to private.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Create a development page<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In this post, I'm going to focus on point 3. <\/span><\/p>\n

    How to create a "development" page for your WordPress website?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

    You must log into your WordPress website, find the option that says \u201cpages\u201d, and click on \u201cadd new\u201d page. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Next, you should name the page "Development", save it as a draft, and start editing. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Remember, you shouldn't publish this page, because it's only a draft to work on the final design that you should export to the page you actually want to modify.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Once you finish designing the layout you're going to put on the page you want to modify, export it as a .Json file in Divi if it's a complete page, or save it in the "Divi Library" if it's just a layout and not a page.\u00a0<\/span>Watch the video for more details.<\/b><\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    If it's the entire page you've exported, go to the page you want to modify and click on the three dots at the bottom of the page, click on portability and then click on "Import". <\/span><\/p>\n

    You must upload the previously exported .Json file, check \u201cReplace existing content\u201d if you want to replace all the page content, and finally, click on \u201cImport Divi Builder Layout\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Ready!<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    If you have only saved the design in the \u201cDivi Library\u201d, you must click add \u201cSection\u201d or \u201cRows\u201d or \u201cModules\u201d depending on the format in which you saved the design in the \u201cDivi Library\u201d, select \u201cAdd from Library\u201d and choose the design you had saved. <\/span><\/p>\n

    After checking that everything is correct, you save and publish your modifications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
